Radiation and hygienic principles for substantiation of sizes and functioning of observation areas of NPPs
The article analyzes the requirements of legislative and regulatory documents of Ukraine regarding purposes of observation areas of nuclear power plants, radiation and hygienic principles for substantiation of their sizes and other aspects of their functioning. It was considered in detail the layering of requirements for observation areas, which combine their "monitoring" purposes and "emergency" functionality. The proposals for changes in legislative and regulatory documents of Ukraine are given. Their implementation will not only solve the problem of zoning around NPPs and other radiation and nuclear facilities, but also to harmonize the legislation of Ukraine with the regulatory requirements of the European Union.
