It is shown the role of nutritional factors in the formation of iron deficiency among the population living on the territories contaminated by radionuclides of the Chernobyl origin. The peculiarities of essential nutrient deficits in persons of fertile age and pregnant women gives ground to assert that nutrition in the conditions of polynutrient deficits needs urgent correction. Using modern methods of nutritional prevention helps to prevent anemia caused by deficiency of hemi iron and other food ingredients that cause occurrence of iron deficiency.

Key words: iron deficiency, nutritional factor, food allowance.
