The analysis of prevalence of multiple sclerosis in Ukraine and abroad, and also among the regions of Ukraine (South, Western, North, Central, East) for period from 2005 to 2010 is conducted. The high index of prevalence of MS in an indicated period was revealed in all regions of Ukraine. The highest level was revealed in North, Western and Central regions, which have status of territories contaminated by radionuclides due to the Chornobyl catastrophe, that does not ground to eliminate influence of contamination of radionuclides as an additional strengthening risk factor for the development of the multiple sclerosis (MS) at the population of the indicated regions, because for most these areas an increase prevalence of MS is characteristic. That stipulates the necessity of creation of the system of the medical support for ÐÑ patients on the base of the regional specialized dispensers for radiation defense of population with scientifically-methodical supporting of SI “RCRM NAMS of Ukraine".

Key words: medical support individuals suffered from Chîrnobyl ñatastrophe, prevalence of the disease, multiple sclerosis.
